In my nearly two years as the Member of Parliament for Scarborough Centre, I have been privileged to visit many different places of worship. I have been warmly welcomed into mosques and mandirs, churches and temples, and have had the privilege of speaking to the congregations.
No matter where we come from or how we worship, I have continually been impressed by the values and priorities that we all hold in common: our love for our families, our community and our country, and our desire to give a better life to our children.
I believe there is so much more we can accomplish for the community together, when we harness our collective energy and passion. That’s why we launched the Scarborough Centre Multifaith Council. My hope is that this group can work to understand and bridge our differences so as to to promote respect and harmony in the Scarborough community.
